So a judge allows the Recording Industry Association of America to obtain the names of “John Does” at the University of Southern California in order to file injunctions against their file downloading activities, not to sue or otherwise obtain settlements. The RIAA says, Thank you very much, and starts calling students and their families demanding $4,000 a piece.
There’s a joke in there somewhere. We’re just trying to find it.
