Hologramalicious
Somewhere between anxiety and celebration last night I had a what the hell was that moment while watching CNN’s election coverage. Wolf Blitzer got all George Lucas on us, beaming correspondents in from around the country hologram style.
From a Noah via Facebook when I wrote, next up Princess Leia and R2-D2:
“We were saying the same thing when that hololady came on,” wrote Noah, “this is some seriously Star Wars shit they’re doing….”
I like that, hololady.
And then from one of my former students via Twitter: “Someone just beamed into CNN.”
He seemed to pause for a bit after posting that one, maybe a minute or two, before actually wrapping his mind over what he just saw.
And then came a plea: “Can we talk about that later? Can we all get together and, as a group, talk about how someone has just beamed into CNN?”
Indeed. Technology for technology’s sake? Of course. But it kind of fits now that we have a new Yoda to lead the country.
