Punk’d By Paris

Who would’ve thunk it would be Paris with the (somewhat) rapid response to the McCain campaign’s Celebrity spot that posits Obama as an airhead celeb with no White House qualifications?

The conventional wisdom about the Internet’s role in 2008 elections was, of course, all about organized networking, improved fund raising and get out the vote drives.

Sure, we’ve seen whispered and not quite whispered negative email campaigns, but I don’t think anyone predicted that the race for the presidency would evolve — or devolve — into high school name calling via YouTube soap boxes.

Them there’s the Internets. Constantly full of surprises.
